Either Days or Midshift.*Per policy PRN requires a min of six shifts per 6 week schedule and two holidays per year. Scheduling is done by Managers every 6 weeks Call schedule is developed by managers and self-selected by associate. A surgical tech or SPD role at Centura Health is not just an opportunity to be a difference-maker, it's the chance to harness the knowledge, support and potential that surrounds you. The Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech works under the supervision of the surgeon and RN. Assists surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed. Assists in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms. Day to Day duties: Scrub on all cases Primarily; Ortho (Trauma/Totals/ Sports Medicine), Spine, Neuro, GEN, OB/GYN, Urology, ENT, Plastics, Bariatric, Cancer care, robotic surgeries (DaVinci XI), Brain Surgery and more. Associates are cross trained for all services. Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations. Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next day's cases. Maintain Sterile field during procedures. Handing instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon's needs. Maintaining and updating preference cards.14 OR Suites Approx. 450-500+ cases per monthWhat You Bring/Job Requirements:In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: * One year of experience in a surgical setting preferred* Experience in a specialty field preferred* Basic Computer skills required* High School Diploma or GED required* Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required* Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program preferred* Current registration as a Surgical Tech is required unless performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another verified Colorado license, certification or registration requiredPhysical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)Your Connected Community:When people and places align, incredible things happen. SPD is located directly beneath the OR assisting in instrument and case cart movement. We have many service lines and train our team members to be able to do everything. Service lines include Ortho, Spine, Neuro, General, OB/GYN, Sports Medicine, Urology, ENT, Plastics, Bariatrics, and More. Our Spine and Total Joint Programs are JCHO certified along with our nationally certified bariatric program.
