About This Role: Provides primary and sports medicine healthcare to KSU students and other eligible persons. Directly provides exceptional sports medicine and family practice healthcare services to eligible patients at Lafene Health Center and remote campus locations. The doctor will maintain a scope of practice contemporary to the needs of college health including diagnosis, treatment, referral for consultation or specialty services, follow-up care, and serve as a positive and respectful resource to patients. Works cooperatively with other Kansas State University departments to be a sports medicine and healthcare resource, as well as to provide care consistent with appropriate standards for sports medicine. Collaborating departments may include the K-State Athletics, Inc., Recreational Services, Department of Food, Nutrition, Dietetics and Health, etc. Works cooperatively with the Lafene Health Center’s Medical Director, Administration, and all clinical and clerical staff in order to maintain a harmonious and productive work environment to the benefit of our patients. Directly contributes to the well-being of patients and the health center through collaboration, commitment, hard work, and adhering to the policies and procedures of Kansas State University and Lafene Health Center. Provides clinical expertise in support of continuous quality initiatives and accreditation standards for Lafene Health Center. Serve as a reliable and accurate resource for peer review, and other health center focused quality improvements. Provides input and support to Lafene Physical Therapy with respect to operations, patient care, injury prevention and treatment. Other duties as assigned by Director or Designee. What You’ll Need to Succeed: Minimum Qualifications: Requires a doctorate degree in medicine from an accredited AMA or AOA school. One to three years of relevant experience. Must be eligible to obtain a license to practice medicine in the state of Kansas. Preferred Qualifications: Treatment of sports related and/or musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. Other Requirements: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment Board certified in Sports Medicine.
