Nationwide Children’s Hospital is currently seeking a Primary Care Sports Medicine physician to join Nationwide Children’s Hospital – Toledo as we look to expand and grow the sports medicine program in Northwest Ohio.
This sports medicine physician would be located in our outpatient sports medicine practice alongside a team comprised of athletic trainers, nursing, and clerical staff. This role will provide direct patient care as it relates to evaluation, treatment, prevention and management of illness/injury and rehabilitation needed for return to sport or active and health lifestyle. They would work collaboratively with our well-established team of over 40 athletic trainers who currently provide services for over 35 schools throughout Northwest Ohio. This physician would also partner with our orthopedic surgeons when surgical intervention is a consideration for treatment.
Qualified applicants must be board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics, Family Medicine, PM & R, or Emergency Medicine with a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine upon hire. Applicants must also have completed fellowship training in Sports Medicine from an ACGME or AOA accredited program. A successful candidate will have strong clinical skills, a commitment to teaching and a desire to help those in the community. This physician will have responsibility to help create the vision and growth plan for our sports medicine program.
