Position: Attending Physician, Primary Sports Medicine Service, Hospital for Special Surgery   Location: HSS Stamford, CT/HSS Westchester, NY   Available Start Date: Fall 2023   The Primary Sports Medicine Service at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York seeks to add a dynamic physician at the assistant or associate level to our current programs at our full service HSS Stamford and HSS Westchester locations. These growing practices serve a large, active population, and a multitude of youth sports programs. This position is also ideal for sports physicians with an interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound. The offices are a convenient 20-minute drive from one another in a beautiful suburban setting, allowing for easy commuting between the two locations.   Sports Medicine at HSS Stamford and Westchester are fully staffed with HSS physicians on site from all specialties providing comprehensive orthopedic and musculoskeletal services, including:   •Patient access to sports medicine specialists via traditional and open scheduling models to enhance the growth of the physician practice   •High-end physical therapy and rehabilitation services   •State-of-the art on-site gym   •Innovative sports performance programming harnessing digital and video technologies   •An array of surgical and non-surgical HSS subspecialties   •Ultrasound and MRI capabilities on site Please visit our HSS Stamford and HSS Westchester websites for an overview of each location. (https://www.hss.edu/hss-stamford.asp; https://www.hss.edu/hss-westchester.asp)   Responsibilities: •Provide comprehensive sports medicine care to children, adolescents, and adults   •Active role in the educational, academic, and administrative activities of the Primary Sports Medicine Service.   •Participation in community outreach, injury prevention and return to sports programs.   •Participation in team and sport event coverage opportunities.   •The development of research projects, and collaboration in research is encouraged.   Primary Sports Medicine Overview   The PSM Service is dedicated to treating injuries in athletes and active individuals of all levels, from elite to recreational. The members of the Service include nationally recognized leaders in clinical care and research. The PSM attending physicians have worked with professional, Olympic and collegiate teams including 7 New York area professional sports teams, as well as other national organizations such as the New York Road Runners. HSS is also designated as a FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence. HSS and the PSM service offer the latest innovations in clinical care, performance, imaging and rehabilitation.   HSS Overview   HSS is the world’s largest academic medical center dedicated to orthopedics, rheumatology and related musculoskeletal specialties. Minimum Qualifications: MD required Current Board Certification in Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine-Pediatrics combined, or Emergency Medicine * Completion of a Fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine

  • Current CAQ in Sports Medicine, or CAQ eligible if completing fellowship training * Team physician experience preferred
