The community you'll be caring for: AdventHealth Sports
Medicine and Rehab Patients
The role you’ll contribute:
When you join our team of over 40 Outpatient Clinics across Central Florida,
you will be part of a winning team of experts dedicated to whole-person care
to help our patients heal, strengthen and renew. We serve patients Orange,
Seminole, Osceola, Polk, Volusia, Flagler and Lake Counties with a dedicated
Team of therapists, clinicians and staff willing to carry on AdventHealth’s
mission in the communities we serve.
As a Occupational Therapist in an outpatient setting you will provide
professional direct and indirect services to specific age groups in the
outpatient rehabilitation settings. Utilizes process improvement in achieving
the goals of the Sports Med and Rehab Department. Accept the responsibility to
practice autonomously and collaboratively in all practice environments to
provide best practice to the patient/client. Autonomous practice is
characterized by independent, self-determined, professional judgment and
action.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Engages in promoting evidence based standards of care and lifelong learning
through autonomous and collaborative participation in research, journal
club/reviews, teaching/mentoring/CI, and/or clinical practice education
within a peer group.
Performs evaluations and re-evaluations according to standards and
recommended techniques. Establishes, implements and adapts an
individualized treatment plan of care including appropriate goal setting,
treatment activities and frequency. Discharges patients when maximum
benefit has been achieved and/or according to standards of practice and
payer guidelines.
Documents accurately, completely, and timely with legible handwriting. Uses
measurable and objective terminology following standards of practice,
insurance guidelines and department/ hospital policy and procedures.
Charges patient accurately, timely and legibly according to guidelines of
the CPT code format, price file, and following insurance guidelines.
Identifies the need for patient/caregiver education and utilizes each
opportunity for teaching on a planned or spontaneous basis. Documents
education and understanding as appropriate.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy and five or more years of
experience as an occupational therapist, OR
Master’s in Occupational Therapy and one or more years of experience as an
occupational therapist
Current valid State of Florida license as an Occupational Therapist
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Preferred qualifications:
Previous experience or clinical rotations in an outpatient setting
