The Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition at the University of Illinois Chicago invites applications for two (2) Open-Rank non-tenure-track positions: 1) Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor and 2) Director of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) faculty positions in Exercise Physiology starting Fall semester 2023. The individuals’ primary responsibilities will be teaching undergraduate and graduate-level exercise physiology-related courses and mentoring students. The individuals will also engage in scholarly activity and service to the profession and/or campus. Preference will be given to those applicants with clinical exercise physiology expertise.

The Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor position requires a doctoral degree in kinesiology, exercise science, physiology, or a related field. The successful candidate will ideally have varied teaching experiences that may include working with large-enrollment undergraduate courses, upper-level undergraduate courses, graduate courses, and courses with laboratories or applied experiences. The candidate will demonstrate expertise in current pedagogical practices with a commitment and passion towards teaching, learning, and student mentorship. The candidate will also demonstrate collaborative and/or independent research in the field associated with their terminal degree.

The Director of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Clinical Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) position requires a doctoral degree in kinesiology, exercise science, physiology, or a related field and three (3) years minimum experience in the field of Clinical Exercise Physiology. American College of Sports Medicine Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-CEP) certification is preferred but not required. The individual will direct a new Master’s degree concentration within the Department. The successful candidate will ideally have varied experiences that may include teaching upper-level undergraduate courses, graduate courses, and courses with laboratories or applied experiences. The candidate will demonstrate expertise in current pedagogical practices with a commitment and passion towards teaching, learning, and student mentorship. The candidate will also demonstrate collaborative and/or independent research in the field associated with their terminal degree.
