Job Description

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Chair of Orthopedic Surgery to lead our team at Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware, in Wilmington.

The Chair of Orthopedic Surgery will lead the strategic growth and advancement of the academic and clinical excellence of Nemours-Delaware Valley Orthopedics. The Chair will continue to build the nationally recognized orthopedic program that is regarded as exceptional among the major pediatric orthopedic programs in the world.

The Chair will report directly to the Surgeon-in-Chief, Nemours-Delaware Valley. This accomplished leader will assume responsibility for the strategic, operational, and administrative functions for the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, which includes 16 surgeons and 2 sports medicine physicians who conduct 44,000+ outpatient visits and perform 2,000+ surgical cases annually.

The successful candidate must have an "enterprise view" of the health system, while developing and executing a vision of the highest quality clinical and surgical orthopedic care. Additionally, this experienced leader will work in partnership with hospital leadership and medical education staff to ensure that the highest quality clinical, research and teaching services are provided through the physicians, clinical and support staff.
