Overview

Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is a designated critical access hospital committed to providing quality health care service to residents in Crawford, Franklin and Washington counties.

 

The hospital has enhanced and expanded the health care services available to the greater Sullivan community with its state-of-the-art emergency department, modern childbirth center, critical care unit, multiroom surgical suite, expanded cardiac rehab services, and a cancer center. A 22,500 square-foot medical office building provides offices for primary care physicians as well as space for a variety of visiting medical and surgical specialists from the St. Louis area.

 

Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital operates four rural health clinics providing quality health care to surrounding communities. In addition, the hospital operates a comprehensive Therapy and Rehabilitation department and an award-winning Wound Care Center with two hyperbaric chambers.

 

Physical, occupational and speech therapies are offered at the Sullivan Sports Fitness & Rehabilitation Center, 216 West Main Street.� The Center offers a full range of therapies with the equipment and staff to treat children and adults with traumatic head or spinal injuries; cerebral vascular accidents; orthopedic or sports injuries; swallowing or language disorders; and burns. The Center provides an exercise specialist and massage therapist, and operates a fully equipped exercise facility open to the community through memberships. The Physical Rehab Dept is certified by the Missouri State Division of Workers' Compensation to treat occupational injuries.

Role Purpose

Responsible for the evaluation and treatment of clients receiving athletic training services in the field and clinical setting. Client care is provided with an understanding of the developmental needs of the population served. Contributes to process improvement and responsible for professional growth.

 

Responsibilities

  • Directs, provides and ensures the delivery of outcome-oriented care of athletes on the field following all National and State regulations.
  • Performs acute injury evaluation and rehabilitation under a physicians directive.
  • Develops and instructs on-site or in-home exercise programs.
  • Supervises and educates students, volunteers and the community.
