The Department of Pediatrics at the Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York is seeking a BC/BE Adult Congenital Heart Disease Cardiologist who is BC in Pediatric Cardiology and/or Adult Cardiology to join our award-winning team of physicians at the Cohen Children’s Heart Center . The Heart Center represents a strong collaboration between the innovative care delivered by the Departments of Pediatrics at Cohen Children’s/Northwell Health and Adult Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery at North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) and Long Island Jewish Medical Center (LIJMC). Primary clinical responsibilities will be in Adult Congenital Heart Disease with participation in inpatient consultative services at both NSUH and LIJMC. The role will also offer the opportunity to grow multidisciplinary clinical programs, research, and teach medical students, residents, and fellows. Faculty appointment with the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, clinical rank will be commensurate with experience.  Joint appointment will be in Pediatrics/Cardiology and Adult Cardiology.
 
The Adult Congenital Heart Program at Cohen Children’s Medical Center is a fully integrated program staffed with ABIM Board Certified adult and ABP Certified pediatric cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiovascular anesthesiologists, interventional catheterization physicians, advanced imaging physicians, exercise physiologists, electrophysiologist, nurse practitioners, nurses, and staff, all of whom are specialized in treating adults with congenital heart defects. The program is led by our Medical Director, an ABIM certified and ACHD accredited provider with over 25 years of experience as a Pediatric Cardiac interventional electrophysiologist. The ideal candidate would have the track record and experience to move towards assuming directorship of the program, however mentorship and support for a junior faculty member by the team is highly available.
 
Cohen Children’s Heart Center is the only children’s hospital facility on Long Island that offers comprehensive pediatric/congenital cardiology and cardiac surgery care from pregnancy through infancy, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood for congenital heart disease. At the Heart Center, our team of pediatric cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons provides expert diagnosis and care for a full spectrum of heart conditions—from cardiac anomalies and fetal diagnosis to lifesaving surgical or catheterization intervention. Our services include heart transplant for the adult patient with congenital heart disease and heart-lung transplant. The Cohen Children’s Heart Center provides more than 14,000 inpatient and outpatient visits annually. With one of the highest volume programs in New York State, the Division of Pediatric Cardiology has a long reputation of providing exceptional cardiovascular care throughout the region.
 
The Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center is the largest pediatric teaching hospital in the New York metropolitan region, with more than 13,000 admissions per year. It is the tertiary pediatric medical center of Northwell Health, formally the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. The Adult Congenital Heart Program at Cohen Children’s Medical Center is a fully integrated program, with specialists in adult medicine including hepatology, pulmonary medicine, including pulmonary hypertension, heart failure and intensive care.  We also have an outstanding maternal-fetal medicine program and high-risk obstetrical team to provide cutting edge care for our mothers with congenital heart disease.
