Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division is recruiting for a BE/BC Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist for a full-time outpatient position. Qualified candidates must have completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship indicating advanced training in child and adolescent psychiatry.
Qualified candidates will be integral to the growth and expansion of the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The outpatient program is a general child and adolescent psychiatry practice focusing primarily on internalizing disorders and comorbidities. There is also an emphasis on medically fragile children, and children with eating disorders. The successful candidate will, on a rotating schedule, cover the 12-bed inpatient unit and new consultations from the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital medical subspecialties. The Joe DiMaggio Emergency Department’s LCSWs evaluate the pediatric psychiatry patients; however, the Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists are called for assistance on occasion.
The outpatient department provides outpatient care for patients referred from the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital heart transplant and advanced heart failure programs, end-stage renal disease and kidney transplant programs, hematology/oncology, diabetes and gender-based endocrinology, and cystic fibrosis programs.
The successful candidate will work closely with a team of established child and adolescent psychiatrists, and report to the Medical Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Division. Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is part of Memorial Healthcare System. The successful candidate will also be faculty in the general psychiatry residency training program. The Memorial Hospital System plans to develop an ACGME-accredited Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship training program. Opportunities for research exist and are encouraged.
This is a full-time employed position with the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, part of the multispecialty Memorial Physician Group. The position offers a competitive benefit and compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.

JDCH serves over 375,000 children per year from around the state. Approximately 100,000 children are cared for in our three emergency rooms across the county per year. JDCH’s services continue to grow with the opening of the new specialty center/ambulatory surgery center in Palm Beach County in 2018 and a new ambulatory pavilion in Miramar, near Miami-Dade County which will open in 2023.
